On Saturday, July 14, 2012, PUDAK SCIENTIFIC has organized a national level training session on Laboratory Management Trainings for Junior High and High School Teachers. This training session which took place at Pudak Scientific’s Training Laboratory Room in Gedebage, Bandung, was lead by Dr. Yunita, M.Pd. She is a Chemistry lecturer at Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung and a national level trainer for Junior High Chemistry Olympiad team.

30 people attended this event. They were teachers from 26 schools throughout Indonesia (8 Provinces and 20 Regencies / Cities):

• CENTRAL SULAWESI Province (SMAN 4 Palu, SMAN 2 Poso, SMAN 5 Palu, SMAN 1 Balaesang-Kab. Donggala, SMAN 1 Petasia-Kab. Morowali).
• EAST KALIMANTAN Province ( SMAN 5 Penajam Paser Utara), 
• BANTEN Province (SMP Terpadu Al-Qudwah-Kab. Lebak).
• DKI JAKARTA Province (Sekolah Tunas Muda-Jakarta).
• WEST JAVA Province (SMAN 2 Sukatani-Kab. Bekasi, Mts & MA Asy-Syifa-Kab. Bandung Barat, SMPN 2 Tanjungsiang-Kab.Subang, SMPN 1 Kasomalang-Kab. Subang, SMPN 1 Ciater-Kab. Subang, SMAN 1 Cikarang Timur-Kab. Bekasi, SMAN 13 Bandung, SMAN 1 Wanayasa-Kab. Purwakarta, SMAN 3 Ciamis, SMAN 2 Kuningan, MAN Salopa-Kab. Tasikmalaya, SMAN 1 Ciamis, SMAN 1 Haurgeulis-Kab.Indramayu).
• CENTRAL JAVA Province ( SMPN 1 Bayat - Kab. Klaten dan SMPN 1 Masaran - Kab. Sragen).
• EAST JAVA Province (SMP Al-Huda – Kota Kediri).
• EAST NUSA TENGGARA Province (SMAN 2 Amarasi Timur - Kab. Kupang).

This training session was using “theories and hands-on experience system”, so it is easier for the participants to gain their knowledge and apply them in their everyday life. They performed many practices, such as:

• Basic technique in using chemistry tools.
• The use of acid chamber.
• Making and diluting chemistry solutions.
• Testing the power supply.
• Testing iron core on transformator model.
• The use of four-arm balance, basic meter and multitester.
• The use and maintenance of microscopes and introduction to digital microscope.
• Laboratory equipments administration and inventory.

To meet the competence requirements, this laboratory management training session was using a one-day format and individual tasks that the participants have to do in order to meet the 2 x 8 hours training quota.
